What is SAS70?
SAS 70 defines the professional standards used by a service auditor to assess the internal controls of a service organization such as hosted data centers and ASPs and issues a service auditor's report.

A Type I service auditor’s report includes the service auditor's opinion on the fairness of the presentation of the service organization's description of controls and whether or not they achieve the objectives. A Type ll includes the information in a Type l audit, plus the service auditor's opinion on whether the specific controls were operating effectively during the period under review.

Why should I use a Telehouse Center for my data center or colocation site rather than establishing my own site?
Most businesses in the market for data center or colocation space prefer to avoid the expense, preparation time, and hassle of building out their own site. In many cases, companies are only looking for enough space to house a few critical pieces of equipment, but absolutely need an infrastructure complete with an uninterruptible power supply, generator back-up, climate-controlled environment, fire protection, and 24x7 security and technical support. From 1 rack unit to dedicated suites, Telehouse America can provide you with scalable solutions tailored to your particular business profile.

In addition, once you join Telehouse, you instantly become part of an exclusive and diverse business community. You'll benefit from being able to work with any other Telehouse customer to develop relationships that can help your business grow. Best of all, you can connect to any other customer or carrier in the facility with no recurring cross-connect fees!

If I house my equipment at a Telehouse facility, will I be required to purchase my communication services from you?
No. The core of our business model is to provide you with cost-effective, secure, and reliable data center/colocationspace and peering connections. The Telehouse America carrier-neutral model gives you the flexibility to choose and use your provider of choice, based upon your particular telecom or IP needs. Our multiple connectivity options not only give you the freedom of choice, but also enable you to have redundant connectivity in case of emergency. Of course, we are available to assist with your search and, introduce you to any of the providers in our centers, but in the end the final choice is always yours.

What is "peering" and do you offer it?
Peering, a necessity for most Internet service providers, is an agreement to establish a direct route between two networks at exchange points. Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) are switching centers where ISPs connect to each other to exchange Internet traffic. Exchange points are located all over the world to guarantee that packets traveling over the Internet will arrive at their destinations with the fewest number of hops.

Telehouse America offers two key, strategic peering connections. One is in downtown New York City via the NYIIX, which has a seamless fabric with a 10GigE interface speed between 25 Broadway (25B) and the 60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue carrier hotels. The second is in Los Angeles via the LAIIX, which also has a dark fiber connection to the One Wilshire carrier hotel.
