New York, NY, January 11, 2008 - TELEHOUSE America, the leading provider of international peering exchanges, colocation facilities, disaster recovery solutions and managed services will be increasing its computer room cooling capacity at their Staten Island Headquarters by 30 percent in the Q1 2008. This will enable TELEHOUSE to better serve clients who necessitate enhanced cooling due to their usage of higher density critical power in their colocation cabinets.
Powered by two separate and distinct chilled water sources--one originally designed for water cooled mainframes and the other for air handling—all of TELEHOUSE's tenant site cooling systems are equipped with level-10 controls, infrared humidifiers, electric reheating capability, and water leakage detectors. The two units are identical with each unit sized to the full design capacity of the site and powered from the essential bus.
As high-density equipment space becomes more desired among TELEHOUSE's colocation customers, it is mandatory that adequate cooling be utilized for assuaging these heat-producing machines. When data output and mechanical power of the TELEHOUSE Center increases, so does the heat output it manufactures. Cooling solutions of the past have become antiquated, and because TELEHOUSE America has upgraded its colocation offerings in recent years, improvements to cooling capacity were mandatory.
The expansion of TELEHOUSE America's cooling system presents a focused-cooling solution that improves upon the scalability and flexibility of the TELEHOUSE Center,"said TELEHOUSE's Atsushi Iizuka, Vice President, Facility Planning & Sales Engineering. "By responding to our clients' growing need for higher-density cooling, TELEHOUSE America remains true to its mission of ensuring our customers continuous operation of their mission-critical data."
