TELEHOUSE launches new cloud service from its Frankfurt Data Center
December 2, 2013Telehouse, the global data center provider announced today the launch of its pioneering cloud services within its Frankfurt data centers. The infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution Telecloud will be offered in conjunction with Telehouse’ parent company KDDI and is targeted to companies of all sizes with mission critical applications.
According to the forecast of the German Internet Foundation BITKOM cloud computing revenues in Germany will advance by 47% during this year and continue to grow by 39% in 2014 to € 10.8 billion. Although enterprises are increasingly overcoming their reservations in regards to cloud services, critics’ concerns still remain regarding data security and the legal framework.
By offering a cloud solution deployed within its state-of-the-art, highly secure data centres Telehouse provides a differentiated cloud service for businesses that do not want to compromise on reliability and data security. Not only will the Telecloud platform be hosted from a securely protected environment, Telehouse can also guarantee that all data will remain physically stored in Germany, within its Frankfurt data centers.
Telecloud has already been brought to market in several international Telehouse locations including France, United Kingdom, China and Japan. Launching the Telecloud portfolio into the rapidly progressing cloud market of Germany will be in line with the company’s international business strategy to offer a pan-European cloud service. To meet customers’ requirements for a global, more sophisticated cloud infrastructure, Telehouse’ Japanese parent company KDDI can deliver one of the world’s largest networks for private cloud services. In addition, customers can access the networks of numerous large internet service providers and carriers that are hosted within Telehouse data centres.
For the launch of Telehouse’ cloud solution in Germany, initially Telehouse will introduce an on-demand platform for its customers in Frankfurt that require virtual access to cloud-based infrastructure without managing the systems themselves. From January 2014 the service will be extended with the introduction of a portal that enables customers to build their own virtual data center via a self-provisioning function. Telehouse together with its parent company KDDI will be responsible for the physical infrastructure and its operation.
“Telehouse is now a data center and IaaS provider all under one roof. On this basis a gradual migration to a virtual infrastructure becomes much more viable. This differentiates us from the rest of the market by allowing our customers to adopt a hybrid strategy without comprising on security, connectivity and efficiency,” Dr. Béla Waldhauser, Chief Executive Officer of Telehouse Deutschland GmbH points out.
