KDDI President Takashi Tanaka Elected to the Board of the GSMA
October 28, 2016October 27, 2016 – The GSMA announced that Takashi Tanaka, the president of KDDI Corporation, has been appointed to the GSMA’s Board.
The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting nearly 800 operators with almost 300 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies, as well as organizations in adjacent industry sectors.
The GSMA Board consists of 26 members, including Mats Granryd, the Director General of GSMA, and 25 operator representatives from around the world. The Board provides a high level direction and decision making for the GSMA in driving growth and innovation across the mobile industry.
The recently-elected Board of the GSMA starts its term on January 1, 2017.
