LED Lighting Retrofit by Revolution Lighting
December 2, 2016Opportunity
Tri-State LED, a division of Revolution Lighting Technologies, recently completed an LED lighting retrofit for Telehouse America, a global leader in data center infrastructure solutions. The retrofit occurred at two of the company’s New York City data center locations, located in Manhattan and Staten Island, New York, and involved the complete retrofit of existing fluorescent lighting that will reduce the facility’s lighting energy use by over 65%.
Tri-State LED’s comprehensive “turnkey” services began with the detailed testing and evaluation of Revolution Lighting’s T8 LED tube products, concluding the LED retrofit would increase lighting efficiency by more than 65%, while increasing light output for enhanced safety. After the initial phases of project development, Tri-State LED worked closely with Telehouse America, managing all phases of the LED retrofit program including scope and budget development, final material selection, pursuit of project incentives, bidding and project management.
Solution
The lighting retrofit replaces the data center’s antiquated T12 fluorescent tube lighting with more than 6,000 of Revolution Lighting’s LED tubes, delivering superior efficiency, longevity and light output. Lasting three times longer than conventional lighting, LED tubes have a rated lamp life of more than 70,000 hours, and combined with Revolution Lighting’s market leading 10-year warranty, will provide significant long term maintenance and energy savings for Telehouse America.
“After extensive testing and verification of the LED tube products with Tri-State LED, it was clear we would exceed our energy saving goals throughout our data center facilities. Tri-State LED acted as an invested partner, providing the extensive time and effort necessary, in particular throughout critical decision-making processes, to ensure a successful project.”
