Hong Kong Internet Exchange opens in Telehouse Hong Kong CCC Data Center
February 10, 2017Hong Kong – 8 February 2017 – KDDI Hong Kong Limited and Hong Kong Internet HKIX announced today that HKIX will open an Internet Exchange (HKIX5 site) in Telehouse Hong Kong CCC.
HKIX is the leading and largest Internet exchange operator in Asia and provides a neutral and reliable interconnection and peering point for Internet service providers. It provides service to more than 260 users and is now expanding the number of its POPs¹ to support the demand for colocation space from HKIX users in TKO² area. This area is one of the most network dense areas in Hong Kong due to the presence of submarine cable landing stations. Through this expansion, customers in Telehouse Hong Kong CCC can enjoy direct connections within the data center to HKIX without any need for local access circuits and in short lead-time. This enhances Telehouse Hong Kong CCC’s position as Internet hub in Asia.
