Telehouse NYIIX is Sponsoring APRICOT2021
February 24, 2021As the major internet peering gateway between North America and Asia Pacific (APAC) it’s no surprise that Telehouse NYIIX is a Community and Peering Sponsor for this year’s virtual APRICOT2021. This year’s event held February 22 to March 4 will be virtual, which stands to make it bigger, better and more inclusive than in years past.
As Asia Pacific’s largest international Internet conference, Asia-Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies (APRICOT) is the major event devoted to internet connectivity and growth in the region. According to APRICOT, “The event draws many of the world’s best Internet engineers, operators, researchers, service providers, users and policy communities from over 50 countries to teach, present, and do their own human networking.”
The ten-day summit comprises seminars, workshops, tutorials, conference sessions, birds-of-a-feather (BOFs), and other forums. The goal is to share the knowledge required to operate the Internet within the Asia-Pacific region.
While the focus is on APAC, APRICOT is equally about bringing together a global community dedicated to making the internet stronger, more available, and more secure. Like in years past, APRICOT2021 brings together all the biggest names in internet, digital and cloud service, policy, and innovation connectivity in the world for ten days.
The true heartbeat of the event are the countless technical and administrative personnel sharing ideas on how to close the remaining gap of connectivity in some parts of the region while making overall internet connectivity more resilient, secure and faster to spur every aspect of a global socio-economic world. In short, this is is a clearinghouse for new ideas, alliances, advances and for tackling persistent challenges.
As the largest neutral Internet exchange point on the US East Coast and one of the largest in the world, Telehouse NYIIX is all about showing its committed support to the region’s connectivity and growth. We do that in ways that show connectivity means education and community sharing as much as it means neutral peering connectivity between the east and west coasts, Europe, and Asia.
Our role as a community sponsor for APRICOT2021 is both a duty and an opportunity. That gives us another way to support the countless operators, providers, and policymakers that are dedicated to growing internet use and reliability in every corner of the APAC region.
Participants and sponsors will hear and contribute to discussions concerning current and developing Internet networking technologies and trends. This includes a full tutorial week covering everything from internet routing with Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI), network monitoring and management, wireless and IPV6 deployment to Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) attributes and scaling techniques, DNSSEC operations, and DDOS.
Speakers include DICT Undersecretary for Digital Philippines Emmanuel Rey R. Caintic, ICANN CEO and President Göran Marby, and a host of speakers representing major players in internet technology and across APAC, the Philippines and the globe. This event is free Registration remaining open until March 4, 2021, the last day of the conference.
Since our founding in 1996, we have dedicated TELEHOUSE NYIIX Peering Exchange to increasing peering across the globe to make the internet stronger, more accessible, and more affordable for everyone. We’re excited to share what we’ve learned and what we offer to APRICOT21 attendees and invite every provider to explore joining our exchange.
